Dr. Ali El-Kerdi
Ali El-Kerdi, PT, PhD, DPT, MBA, FAAOMPT, LAT, ATC, CAT(C), CSCS, EMT
Dr. El-Kerdi is currently an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at St John's University. He has been a certified athletic trainer for over 23 years and a sports and orthopedic manual physical therapist for over 18 years. He is a fellow of orthopedic manual therapy – one of the most arduous post-professional physical therapy academic preparations. His Ph.D. training focused on the relationship between core stability and balance. Dr. El-Kerdi is also the founding director of the MossRehab Falls & Injury Prevention Initiative: a program designed to reduce injury and falls in community-dwelling adults.
Dr. El-Kerdi has held countless positions working alongside athletes at virtually every level of sports from professional (NHL, NFL, CFL, & NBA), international (FIFA, and World Rugby), and Olympic athletes to local youth clubs and programs. Furthermore, Dr. El-Kerdi has held several prominent academic faculty and leadership positions (Associate Professor, Program Director, and Department Chair) in both athletic training and physical therapy programs. Similarly, he has held several prominent clinical and managerial positions. Dr. El-Kerdi serves as a reviewer for several major peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. El-Kerdi was the founding medical director for the National Collegiate Rugby Organization and is currently on the Medical Board of National College Rugby
